Atef Magdy joined Fawry in 2020, where he oversees the commercial side of the company’s Financial services, International Operations, as well as Fawry’s digital channels. Atef brings over 22 years of experience in the fields of Fintech and Information Technology and Telecommunication where he has held key Executive and Leadership roles across various firms.

Prior to Fawry, Atef spent 14 years with IBM Middle East and Africa. At IBM, he worked extensively on developing the company’s commercial strategy for the banking, enterprise and commercial sector. In 2015, Atef moved to Johannesburg, South Africa where he assumed the role of Business Unit Leader in charge of Angola, Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Countries and Indian Ocean Islands (IOI).

Before IBM, Atef spent 7 years with RAYA Holding, Egypt’s leading ICT company where he was responsible for leading the solutions and products teams that he actively participated in creating, coaching and developing.
Atef holds an MBA from Warwick University, United Kingdom with a focus in Accounting, Financial Management, Corporate Finance and Managerial Accounting. He also holds a Bachelors of Engineering in Electronics and Communications from Cairo University’s Faculty of Engineering
