Fawry strikes partnership with Natgas to offer prepaid recharge for gas meter cards
Natgas customers are now able to recharge their gas meter prepaid cards through Fawry’s multiple and widespread channels.
13 December 2022 (Cairo, Egypt) – Fawry has announced that it has agreed with Natgas to launch the recharge service for prepaid gas meter cards provided by the National Company for Natural Gas. This will be an addition to the electronic payment of Natgas bills, already available through Fawry’s multiple digital channels. The partnership is designed to offer an easy and seamless payment experience for clients.
Accordingly, Fawry, the leading provider of e-payments and digital finance solutions, will offer recharge service for Natgas prepaid gas meter cards through its various payment channels, including over 300,000 nationwide Point-Of-Sale (POS) machines and FawryPlus branches spread across all governorates, thus providing nearby facilities for Natgas customers who previously had to go to the gas company’s main branches.
The cooperation comes within the framework of Fawry’s pioneering role of backing the national digital transformation strategy, guided by Egypt’s 2030 Vision, in order to eventually turn to a completely cashless society. In this context, Fawry is focusing on promoting digital services like prepaid card recharge and bill payment and collection. By reducing cash transactions and turning to easier methods of payment and collection, the company is reinforcing the financial inclusion principles in compliance with Central Bank of Egypt’s directives.

On his part, Eng. Omar Mahmoud Masoud, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Natgas, dubbed cooperation with Fawry as a vital step towards digitalizing the payment and collection of gas bills. “It helps to facilitate recharging the prepaid meters, which serves the digital transformation and financial inclusion strategy adopted by the Egyptian government.”
