Fawry, Petrotrade join forces to offer prepaid gas meter recharge service

Fawry is Egypt’s first company to provide the facility for Petrotrade’s customers.

28 July 2022 (Cairo, Egypt) – In alignment with the national drive to digitalize payments and achieve digital transformation, Fawry has announced that it is partnering with Petroleum Trading Services company (Petrotrade), represented by its Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Waseem Wahdan, to launch prepaid recharge service for gas meter cards for Petrotrade’s customers. Under the agreement, outstanding gas bills can also be paid at Fawry branches to facilitate payment for citizens.

The service, launched for the first time in Egypt, will enable Petrotrade’s clients to top up their pay-as-you-go gas meters through Fawry’s branches all over country, including Fawry merchant network and FawryPlus terminals, in addition to Fawry gateway. Thus, the leading banking technology and e-payment company will provide the population of villages and hamlets with nearby facilities to recharge their prepaid cards instead of having to go to Petrotrade main branches.

Fawry reaffirms its commitment to fully support national efforts aiming to digitalize collection and payment of oil and gas companies’ dues. Hence, it seeks to keep pace with government expansion plans regarding gas prepaid meters, and to back national initiatives for improving quality of life for citizens, especially Hayah Karima (Decent Life) campaign which includes expansion in using prepaid payment methods.
